Wine Tasting Tuscany

by Marco Viani

Innovation of tradition! From this concept our farm A Solatìo restarts 20 years ago replanting all the vineyards and shifting the objective from the production of quantity to that of quality mainly focusing on Tuscan vines, first of all Sangiovese, without losing sight of more international varieties like Cabernet Sauvignon.

With the same care we select small and unknown Tuscan producers who adopt our same philosophy to obtain excellent wines, such as Brunello di Montalcino or Supertuscan of great refinement that have nothing to envy to much more well-known Tuscan wineries.

After many years of experience and product selection, we have extracted the guiding concept that inspires us whenever we need to add a product: time, quality, tradition.

  • The TIME, or rather the respect of the times, of processing, of maturation, of cooking, of settling, of seasoning… in short, do everything at the time and for the time due.
  • The QUALITY of raw, organic or first choice materials and of production processes.
  • TRADITION understood as an absolute respect for the methods and processing times, which constitute an obligatory and inseparable combination to be able to pass on those ancient rules that we call “culture of the Tuscan gastronomic tradition”.

We are attached to this tradition because we are convinced that the secret of quality lies precisely in respect for centuries of experience;and as John Ruskyn asserts:

“There is hardly anything in the world that some man cannot make a little worse and sell a little cheaper, and the people who consider price only are this man’s lawful prey.”.

We are sure of the quality of our products, just as we are sure of the care we put in the packaging, for this reason it is really simple to live a true Tuscan experience in your home, by sending out what you love most about our offer; not only that: do you have friends or customers and want to make them a tasty surprise? On your behalf, we can send to appointed address whatever you prefer, anywhere to Italy and rest of Europe. For Unites States of America or other overseas Countries, please contact us.

An authentic Tuscan experience, so we love to define the tastings of food, wine and extra virgin olive oils that we can offer at our A Solatìo farm house, starting from the simplest, the intermediate and the most exclusive dinner to be held in the cellar surrounded by hundreds of wines or, in summer, on the panoramic terrace in the middle of our vineyards: not to be missed!

Tuscany wines: guided wine-tasting excursions in the Chianti

Italian Tuscany is filled with objects of cultural and historical heritage, mainly because of the preserved architectural monuments of Florence, Siena and other cities. But not less interesting are the vineyards in the region, which continue the centuries-old traditions of Tuscan wine production. This is where the famous Chianti wine is produced and the equally famous Nobile di Montepulciano and Brunello di Montalcino.

We suggest you visit tasting excursions in the region’s vineyards, during which you can “live” see the places where the famous Italian wines are created and even personally taste the whole taste of Tuscany wines. The Italian region of Chianti in central Tuscany is well known to the world for its superb noble red wines produced by local farms.
In addition, the region itself is unusually picturesque – you will really be struck by the beauty of the emerald hills, completely covered by olive groves and vineyards.

Chianti – one of the most picturesque valleys in Tuscany

During the tour you will see picturesque ancient churches, medieval castles, visit small villages that have preserved the fantastic atmosphere of a millennial history and ancient traditions.
You can also visit the vineyards, where you will no doubt be offered a taste of the local Chianti wine, as well as try traditional Tuscan vegetable and meat snacks.

In this tasting day tour you will find very interesting, and most importantly – try the Nobile di Montepulciano – one of the most prominent red wines in Italy. It is made from grapes of the noble varieties Mammolo, Canaiolo Nero and Prugnolo Gentile.
Then our road lies in the very town of Montepulciano. It is probably called the “17th Century Pearl”, because the city is really a real treasure left to us from the Renaissance. Montepulciano is located on a hill with stunning views.
After a walk around Montepulciano, a visit to the A Solatio vineyard is planned. The Viani family has been making wine for more than 100 years. Once it was this house that gave the world the fantastic Super Tuscan wine.
You can whet your appetite during the tasting in their patio, where you have lunch with delicious Tuscan delicacies.
