Winemaker A Solatio notes
With this SUPERTUSCAN the Farm A Solatio aims to create a wine that meets the quality criteria that distinguishes us.
The grapes used to achieve the purpose, until 2011 year of the replanting of the vineyards are: Sangiovese, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, but in years to come, will be replaced by grape varieties of the Tuscan winemaking tradition: Colorino, Ciliegiolo and the beautiful Red Malvasia (Malvasia Rossa).
The exposure of the vineyards are in the north, but the low slope of the land means that the sunshine is still guaranteed throughout the day.
Most of the secondary grape varieties used in the creation of this italian red wine are in an area of the property called, “The Apples” and from here the inspiration to name the wine “i Meli” (Apples in italian).
The technique of vinification and aging is the same used for our wine sangiovese Purezza: steel tank fermentation and maceration on the skins for 20 days at a controlled temperature and pumping.
12/18 months in barriques with 8/12 months in the bottle storage.
Great structure, intense and deep color make it the ideal companion for demanding and robust dishes.
We recommend an early opening in order not to miss the good feelings that the Super Tuscan iMeli knows to donate generously.
